ABOUT SFEDA

Small businesses and Micro-enterprises are keys to economic development and a high quality of life in San Francisco. They facilitate self-sufficiency of the entrepreneur, create jobs, protect diversity, strengthen neighborhoods and reduce crime.

The San Francisco Economic Development Alliance (SFEDA) consists of 10 member organizations all of whom directly serve small businesses and micro-enterprises in the
City. SFEDA believes that all San Franciscans should have access to the full spectrum of entrepreneurial development services. Our mission is to help low- and moderate-income San Franciscans improve their quality of life by strengthening small businesses and microenterprises; and to maintain a regular forum and to share best practices so that member organizations can leverage resources and expertise and deliver high quality small business development services.

Utilizing an expansive and comprehensive range of programs, all member organizations positively impact San Francisco’s economy by helping clients launch new businesses as well as develop or expand current operations. The numbers below, compiled by the Mayor’s Office of Community Development, illustrate the combined economic impact of SFEDA.
